So invariably when you meet someone there is a period of time where you think the world of the person. They're perfect, funny, brilliant, adorable...they can do no wrong. Then you get to know them a little better and you notice things, comments here and there trying to bring you over to their line of thinking.
"Here, watch this DVD. It will change the way you look at the world."
"Here, read this book. You'll never be the same."
"Here, try this beer. Isn't it the best thing you've ever tasted?"
That's where I have to draw the line. Tell me you're an ultra-conservative or a far-left liberal, tell me you're an animal rights activist or a member of the gun lobby, tell me you're pro-life or pro-choice, tell me you're a pure capitalist or a communist, tell me you're a vegetarian who is thinking of going vegan, tell me you're a Jehovah's Witness or an atheist, but BY GOD or whatever you hold dear, don't tell me what beer I should drink. Don't tell me my beer really isn't all that. Don't keep telling me that your beer is an acquired taste and I should be more open-minded. NO NO NO NO NO!!! You have no right to judge me by my choice of alcoholic beverage. No right at all.
Can't we all just get along?
