- Do you think that if I showed up at the courthouse with a copy of John Grisham's Runaway Jury that I might get out of jury duty?

Why would anyone WANT to get out of jury duty? Fascinating stuff - you might be just the kind of juror that I am looking for. Intelligent, able to see through BS, and not likely to give in to some bully fellow juror. PLEASE don't bring the Grisham book....

Probably not, considering that wearing your Starfleet uniform or full Elven regalia won't get you out of it.
Now, asking the defendent's attorney why he never called you again will get you out of it.

In my case, he was married and I was a single girl he met at a dance club.
